Gluten Free Apple Pie Crumble Recipe

Start the year off with this Gluten Free Germinal Apple Pie Crumble.
The Germinal Organic cinnamon and apple bars act as a perfect apple pie crumble, filled with sweet and tangy flavor.

Your guest won’t believe this only took 10 minutes to prep.
It's literally as easy a pie!
This recipe is the ideal dessert to serve at your dinner party or when you are just in the mood to cozy up by the fireplace with a good book and delicious slice of pie.

Ingredients:

Serving: 6 – 7 slices

  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 25 minutes 

1 Gluten Free BakeHouse Pie Crust Ready 
6 Germinal Cinnamon & Apple bars
4 medium apples
1/2 small lemon
2 tablespoon butter 
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 
1/3 cup raw coconut sugar 
3 tablespoons water 

Suggestion: Top with homemade whipped cream or your favorite vanilla ice cream. Serve warm. 

Tips: Depending on which gluten free crust you purchase, you may need to pre-cook the crust so it’s semi cooked when pie filling is added. We used pie crust from Whole Foods, which worked great!

Directions:

Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. 

Step 2:
Chop Germinal cinnamon and apple bars into crumbles, and set aside. 

Step 3:
Cut apples into bite sized pieces, about 1 inch cubes, and squeeze lemon to prevent apples from browning.

Step 4:
On medium heat, melt butter in a skillet and add apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and water.
Cook for 10 minutes or until apples are soft and thickened.
This should not be watery. 

Step 5:
In your 9-inch pie crust, add cooked apple mixture and top with the Germinal apple cinnamon bar crumble.
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
